In a game they had to have, the Green Bay Packers got the win against the Miami Dolphins, but didn’t hit the prop bets we were hoping for. It’s safe to say Aaron Jones and his nagging injuries are should be off our bingo card going forward.

We can’t avoid the Pack, however, as they host the Minnesota Vikings in a must-win, to keep their playoff hopes alive. Minnesota is in a forever struggle to prove their legitimacy, as they’re still in pursuit of the top seed in the NFC.

Does that amount to fireworks? Let’s share the available prop bets and our favorites for this Week 17 showdown.

Odds as of Dec 31 at DraftKings Sportsbook

Prop #1: Aaron Jones Rush & Rec Yards

I know, we said he’s off the card, but it’s hard to turn down this pattern. In the last nine games, Jones has alternated between surpassing this rush and receiving total and falling way under it.

Last week in Miami, he was held to just 25 rush yards (on just six attempts) and two catches for nine yards.

The previous week against the Rams, he topped this total alone with 90 rush yards, and 36 pass yards for good measure.

In the season opener, the Vikings held him to 49 yards rushing and 27 receiving, but he bounced back the following game for 132 yards rushing and 38 yards receiving against the Bears.

Jones is battling knee and ankle issues, seemingly something he’s had to deal with each week. He was limited in practice Thursday, but if he’s a go, expect him to top this total in our Vikings vs Packers picks.

Pick:

  • Jones OVER 87.5 rush and receiving yards (-115); 1 unit to win 0.87 units

Prop #2: Jefferson Rec Yards and Rodgers Pass Yards

I’m not a big “bulletin board material” guy, but maybe Justin Jefferson is. This week, Packers’ corner Jaire Alexander called his Week 1 performance — where JJ went from 184 yards and two scores — a fluke.

The stats show otherwise. Jefferson has crossed 100+ yards receiving in 10 games, including the last three games, where he’s also grabbed at least 11 balls. The truth is, the line can’t get high enough for me to not back the NFL’s best receiver.

As for Rodgers, if there’s ever a time to let it spin, it’s got to be against the league’s worst pass defense. Minnesota has allowed six of the last seven pivots they’ve faced to throw for 300+ yards.

It’s not like it’s prime Brady, Manning and Brees that’s been lighting them up, either. Mac Jones, Mike White and Daniel Jones are on that list.

Rodgers is only putting up 221.1 yards passing, but in a mean-everything game, Rodgers should be able to find his rhythm.

Pick:

  • Jefferson OVER 95.5 receiving  yards (-130); 1.5 units to win 1.31 units
  • Rodgers OVER 252.5 passing yards (-115); 1 units to win 0.87 units

Vikings vs Packers Touchdown Scorer Odds

For the visitors, Jefferson has caught TD passes in two straight and in six of the last eight games. Dalvin Cook has not scored a TD in the last two games. He hasn’t gone three games without a major.

For Green Bay, AJ Dillon has been a TD machine, finding the endzone five times in his last four games. A hip injury derailed a lot of Christian Watson TD props last week — he’s now gone two straight games without a TD, after scoring seven in the previous four games.

Not a bad sprinkle if he can go at plus odds.

Pick:

  • Jefferson ANYTIME TD scorer (-110); 1 unit to win 0.91 units
  • Week 16 Record: 1-3; Overall Record: 24-34, -12.42 units
