KC Double-Digit Faves Again
The Chiefs are the biggest favorites for the second week in a row as they are laying 10.5 points to the visiting Carolina Panthers.
The Chiefs covered the whopping 20-point spread Sunday against the Jets. Patrick Mahomes passed for 416 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Chiefs (7-1).
Mahomes even gave Tyreek Hill a victory ride.

The Panthers (3-5) are coming off a 25-17 home loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night in which they were favored by 1.5 points. Teddy Bridgewater was limited to 176 passing yards in the loss.
All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey is expected to return after missing six games with an ankle injury.
Pack Slim Road Choice
The Green Bay Packers are favored by one point on the road over the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday night in the rematch of last season’s NFC Championship Game.
That is the smallest Week 9 opening line.
The 49ers posted a convincing 37-20 victory on their home field in the title game back in January. They also trounced the Packers 37-8 at Levi’s Stadium during the regular season in 2019.
The Packers (5-2) were upset at home by the Minnesota Vikings 28-22 on Sunday as a 5.5-point favorite, as they gave up 226 total yards and four touchdowns to Dalvin Cook.

The 49ers (4-4) also lost, dropping a 37-27 decision to the Seahawks at Seattle as one-point underdogs.
Bad Teams, Lotsa Points
The Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars are two teams going nowhere in the AFC South with 1-6 records.
The worst 10 teams in the NFL entering the midway point of the season:
32. Jets
31. Cowboys
30. Jaguars
29. Broncos
28. Texans
27. The Team
26. Giants
25. Bengals
24. Vikings
23. Falcons— Jon Ledyard (@LedyardNFLDraft) November 1, 2020
However, the oddsmakers are at least expecting the Texans and Jaguars to put on an entertaining game when they meet in Jacksonville. The over/under of 55.5 points is the highest on the board.
The teams combined for 44 points when they met in Week 5, Houston notching its lone win of the season by a score of 30-14.
The Texans are scoring 23.7 points a game and allowing 31.0 while the Jaguars’ averages are 22.0 and 31.4.
Monday Night SnoozeFest
The lowest total is 41.5 for Monday night’s game between the New England Patriots and Jets in the Meadowlands.
The Patriots (2-5) lost their fourth straight game Sunday, falling 24-21 to the Bills at Buffalo. New England is averaging 12.3 points a game during its skid.
Patriots look like every team we’ve been making fun of over the last 20 years. A handoff on 4th and 12 at the 50? Brutal. Offense is afraid to take any chances. Can’t win like that.

The Jets’ offense was again futile in their loss at Kansas City. New York has scored 17 points or fewer in seven of its eight games and been held to single digits three times.
Movement on the Line
It is a little surprising to see the Packers as a small favorite on the road against the 49ers, especially after their troubles in the Bay Area last seasons. San Francisco could be the favorite by kickoff.
The Titans (5-2) being a 6.5-point favorites over the Chicago Bears (5-3) seems a tad high, especially with Tennessee coming off its second straight loss — to the lowly Cincinnati Bengals, no less — following a 5-0 start.
