AC Milan’s Serie A Odds Worsen From 18-1 to 24-1
- Serie A kicks off on August 24
- Juve massive favorites
- AC Milan fourth-favorites at +2000
Italy’s Serie A kicks off on August 24 when Juventus head to Parma for the start of their title defense at 12:00 pm EST. The reigning champions are hotly-tipped to retain the trophy.
Italian Serie A 2019/20 Odds
Team | Odds |
---|---|
Juventus | -250 |
Inter Milan | +475 |
Napoli | +500 |
AC Milan | +2000 |
AS Roma | +3300 |
Atalanta | +4000 |
Fiorentina | +7500 |
Lazio | +7500 |
Torino | +10000 |
Sampdoria | +20000 |
Odds taken 8/7/19.
If the Serie A odds are to believed, it’s a one-horse race, with Juventus heavily favored (-250) to win the Serie A title for the ninth consecutive season. Inter Milan are not too far behind on +475 but for Juve to be odds on in a 20-team league speaks volumes.
Never Forget The Foxes
But for those who love an outsider and a speculative bet, it’s always worth remembering that soccer is an inexact science and weird things do occur – none weirder than Leicester City winning the 2015/16 English Premier League.
Before that season began, the Foxes (as they are known) were quoted at +50000 to win – the same odds on Elvis Presley being found alive that year – and so in soccer almost anything really is possible, which is why it’s always worth looking beyond the obvious when looking for value.

AC Milan have been the fourth-favorite all offseason. They started at +2000, by June they had come in to +1800, and today they are back at +2000 but there have been many ups and downs and their average odds are +2400. All of which is interesting and doesn’t really reflect their excellent activity in this summer’s transfer market.
To date – and let’s not forget the start of the Italian season is still two weeks away – AC have spent a cool €100 million and have brought in six new players, including Portuguese striker Rafael Leao from Lille and Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie from Atalanta. They appear well set for a crack at the top two in our book, especially if the new signings are quick to settle in. A good pre-season is vital for them.

Ignore Ancelotti’s Men at Your Peril
Napoli are sandwiched between AC Milan and AC’s city counterparts in the betting, but based on the odds (+500) are in with an outside shot of catching Juve. They too have spent big in this window with manager Carlo Ancelotti spending €88 million so far.
Leicester were quoted at +50000 to win the EPL in 2015/16 – the same odds on Elvis Presley being found alive that year
Ancelotti’s big purchase has been Greek central defender Konstantinos Manolas from Roma for €35 million, but also arriving in Naples for big money have been goalkeeper Alex Meret from Udinese and midfielder Eljif Elmas from Fenerbahce.

Value in Juve’s Chasing Pack
Napoli is a club that has re-emerged from a lull to once again become a force in Italian soccer and with one of the world’s wiliest managers at their helm, they have given themselves a chance to close the gap to Juve.
So, while the Turin club will expect to make it nine in a row, there is an interesting little group just behind them who are all equipping themselves for a shot at closing the gap. And while we’d not recommend a huge bet, there’s something about AC’s +2000 that interests us, and we consider them worthy longshots.
Our pick: Juve to win Serie A / AC Milan to finish second.
