Columbus Crew vs New England Revolution Prediction

Two teams with MLS Cup aspirations meet in MLS Week 11 at 5:00 pm EST Saturday afternoon. Columbus will also be opening their brand new Lower.com Field.

The Crew are now winless in two after last week’s 0-0 draw with Austin and a 1-0 defeat to Philadelphia the week prior.

Columbus games have strongly favored the UNDER when it comes to totals betting. They are 7-3 to Under 2.5 totals—only Austin FC has played to more Unders. With just seven goals conceded on the year, the Crew are the joint-leaders with Seattle for fewest goals allowed. They’re fifth overall  in xGA at 11.3 and are tied in second for fewest shots on target allowed with only 29. Of course, with just nine goals scored themselves, their margin for error has been tight this year.

The Revs were riding impressive five-match winning and six-match undefeated streaks heading into the weekend match with FC Dallas. Despite Dallas’ poor record overall, they have been strong at Toyota Stadium and pulled off a 2-1 victory.

It’s the second meeting between the teams, with New England taking a 1-0 home win back on May 16. The match was very close to ending scoreless though as the shots on target were just 3-1 for the Revs. Adam Buksa subbed into the match late and scored the winner in the 86′ minute. The Crew were also missing Lucas Zelarayan in that match.

Given how tight both defenses have been, there looks like good value on taking the plus-money on the Under.

Pick: Under 2.5 (+110)

FC Dallas vs Vancouver Whitecaps Prediction

Two sides currently out of the Western Conference playoff picture meet at 8:30 pm EST on Sunday night. FC Dallas sit in 11th place in the West with ten points, two points above 13th placed Vancouver.

Dallas hadn’t collected three points in a match since May 1, that, until Sunday’s 2-1 home win over New England. Dallas has only two wins at home this year, but they are undefeated at 2-4-0.

For Vancouver, it’s now six games on the bounce without a win. They are though coming off a strong showing against league leaders Seattle, drawing the Sounders 2-2 last weekend. But prior to that, they had lost five-straight.

In each of their past six, they’ve conceded at least one goal. Twice they conceded three times and three times they conceded two.

These teams didn’t meet in 2020, so there’s little recent history. The past four meetings though in 2018 and 2019 have seen both sides scoring and either three or four goals being scored. There’s not been less than two goals scored when these sides have met since 2015.

While the Caps have no true home games, playing out of Sandy, Utah, when they have travelled, they are still winless at 0-2-4 with six goals scored and 13 conceded.

In their past 35 home matches in MLS, FC Dallas has lost just two of them. Neither of those losses came in the past 15 and I haven’t seen enough from Vancouver to think they’ll reverse that trend.

Pick: FC Dallas to Win (-141)

LA Galaxy vs Sporting Kansas City Prediction

The final game of MLS Week 11 kicks off late Sunday night at 10:30 pm EST with two of the top teams in the West. Third place LA Galaxy will host the second place Sporting Kansas City in a huge match as both look to close in on first place Seattle.

Both of these teams have allowed 15 goals on the year. SKC has scored 22, while LA 17. SKC also leads the league in xG at 23.6 All that has sent both teams to the top of the Over betting charts. SKC are 9-3 to Over 2.5 totals this season while LA is 8-2.

The Galaxy are coming off a 3-1 win over San Jose last weekend, where Chicharito scored his league-leading ninth and tenth goals of the season. The Galaxy have won two-straight, while their last three have cashed for Over bettors. At home, at Dignity Health Sports Park, they’ve scored in all five matches so far, scoring multiple goals in three of those five.

Daniel Salloi is leading the attack for SKC, recording seven goals so far and has now scored three goals in his last two matches. He has found the back of the net in five of seven recent matches as well. Salloi’s 87′ minute goal on Saturday was the game-winner in SKC’s 2-1 win over LAFC.

It’s the second-straight win for Peter Vermes’ team and the sixth-straight where both teams have scored. The Over has cashed in five of SKC’s recent matches.

Goals should be in the cards in this one. Both scoring at -200 is an option, or taking better odds at both scoring and Over 2.5 goals at -143.

Pick: Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals (-143 at William Hill)
