As per usual, Paris Saint-Germain dominated Ligue 1 in 2019/20, winning the league title, the Coupe de France, and the Coupe de la Ligue. Odds have now been released on just how many trophies Thomas Tuchel’s side may win in the upcoming season.
By no surprise, the sportsbooks are favoring the French powerhouse to grab the domestic double this upcoming season. The job is still not done as well, with PSG looking to grab a Champions League title on Sunday as they face Bayern Munich in the Final.

PSG Unmatched in France
Although PSG was named champions in 2019/20 because the league was cut short due to COVID-19, they held a 12-point lead over second-place Marseille. One way or another, the Parisians were on their way to another league title even if the season was completed. They looked practically unstoppable, losing just three times in 27 matches while scoring 75 goals and conceding just 24. Kylian Mbappe led the way with 18 goals, while Neymar and Mauro Icardi bagged 13 and 12, respectively.
When it comes to the Coupe de France, PSG has won it 13 times. 2019 they finished as runners up after losing to Rennes in the final, but previously, Paris won it in four consecutive years. Even with the prolonged break from play, they were able to win it once again in 2020, beating Saint Etienne. As for France’s other league cup that covers only the top three divisions in the country, Paris Saint-Germain has also won the competition on nine different occasions.
Tuchel’s squad hasn’t lost a whole lot of players heading into the new season, with the exception of Edinson Cavani and Thomas Meunier, who left for Borussia Dortmund. With Mbappe, Neymar, and Icardi leading the line, PSG is a safe bet to win at least two more trophies this term.

Will PSG Repeat Brilliance from 2020?
After winning three trophies this past season (four if you count the Super Cup), the odds are certainly not favoring the Parisians to do so again with odds of +1400. Winning those four competitions in France is a feat that PSG has now completed in four of the past six seasons. It’s worth noting that the Coupe de la Ligue has been discontinued due to lack of interest, meaning winning three trophies would mean a sweep of the Ligue 1 title, Coupe de France, and a European trophy. The domestic double seems to be the best bet currently, with -167 odds. PSG has won the Ligue 1 title in seven of the last eight seasons.
No team in the French top-flight has proven they have what it takes to compete with this club over the course of a full season, evident by the number of titles Paris has won. When it comes to the French Cups though, upsets are possible. 2019 was the perfect example. A Strasbourg side who finished 11th in Ligue 1 that year was able to upset PSG in the final of the Coupe de Ligue.
It’s hard to bet against PSG considering how utterly dominant they’ve been over the last number of years in France. Two trophies are a safe bet.
