Odds as of June 27th from DraftKings

Reilly Opelka vs Dominik Koepfer

Opelka and Koepfer will take the court tomorrow morning for their first round match. The players are set to play at 7:15 AM ET, and this will be the third meeting between the two, but the first meeting on grass.

For both Opelka and Koepfer, this is only the second time they will be competing in the main draw of Wimbledon in their careers. Neither player is coming off success heading into Wimbledon. For Opelka, he lost in the opening round at the Queen’s Championship, and Koepfer lost in the opening round of the Halle Open.

The 23-year old American looks to have a slight edge here, as the grass surface will cater to his big serve, and he went on to strike 27 aces in his match at the Queen’s Championship, despite the loss. Look for that type of dominance to continue into this match as well. But not to discount Koepfer who had a strong flat forehand as well, which lends itself nicely to the grass surface. He’ll definitely give Opelka some trouble, but look for the American to move on to the next round.

Best Bet: Opelka 3-1 (+350)

Andy Murray vs Nikoloz Basilashvili

This is a really interesting opening match, and with -112 moneyline for each player to win, this will a close one.

Murray returns to Wimbledon for the first time since 2017, and the two-time champion received a wildcard for the Grand Slam this year. Murray doesn’t have a ton of grass practice ahead of the tournament, but managed to win a match at the Queen’s Championship before losing to eventual champion, Matteo Berrettini in straight sets.

Basilashvili on the other hand is coming off a deep run at the Halle Open, where he ended up losing in the semifinals to Andrey Rublev. He hasn’t been the most consistent this year, but has been able to find success at a few tournaments.

We don’t have any previous matches to go off of between these two players. But based on their playing leading up to the tournament, the match can definitely go either way, and it will most likely go the distance. Murray will be able to play in front of a home crowd, which could ignite something in him, especially will his success over the years on grass.

Best Bet: Murray (-112); OR Murray 3-1 (+430)

Nick Kyrgios vs Ugo Humbert Prediction

This has all the making of being one of the most exciting opening matches of the tournament. Whichever player comes out of this match has the opportunity to really be a dark horse in this tournament. But this is an exciting rematch of the five-set battle that took place between these two at the Australian Open earlier this year.

Surprisingly, this will only be Kyrgios third tournament of 2021. So the amount of matches he has under his belt this year is significantly smaller than Humbert. Humbert, himself is coming off a title win at the Halle Open, and then withdrew from his Round of 16 match at the Mallorca Open earlier this week.

Just based on current form and matches under his belt, Humbert has the slight edge here. And in attempts to avenge his Australian Open loss, he might have a little extra in the tank to make sure that happens.

This most likely won’t be an easy 3-0 sweep, but it probably won’t go the full five either. Look for Humbert to move onto the next round in four.

Best Bet: Humbert 3-1 (+330)
