The UEFA Champions leaue semifinals are set as the draw gives us Bayern Munich facing Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund taking on Real Madrid.

Barcelona is on their sixth semifinals in a row, but they will face the German champions, who were in the final last season.

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes said he knows Barcelona undoubtedly well and doesn’t need the advice of anybody else.

“Respect me and my work,” Heynckes curtly told reporters on Friday. “I have never consulted anyone or asked for advice. I do not need anyone to study an opponent.”

“He may have insider knowledge, but we also have an insider on our bench. No German knows Spanish football better than Heynckes”, club’s chief executive officer Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

For Barcelona is meeting between two of the best clubs in the world.

“It’s a tie between two great teams. They are two sides with different styles,” said Andoni Zubizarreta, Barcelona sporting director. “We will try to do what we enjoy doing and what we know how to do. We will be delighted to get to a place as magical as Wembley (the venue for the final).”

The other semifinal faces two teams that already met this season in the group stage.  Real Madrid was unable to beat Borussia Dortmund in two games.

“We have already played them twice this season, and we were unable to beat them,” said Emilio Butragueno, a former Real Madrid player and current club director. “But we hope this time it will be different, and we can get through to the final.”
