NFL Public Betting & Money Percentages for Steelers vs Colts Monday Night Football
- Indianapolis is drawing 63% of the spread wagers as 2.5 points favorites in the Steelers vs Colts public betting splits
- Over 39.5 is drawing 57% of the tickets after the line hasn’t moved since odds were released
- See below for a full breakdown of the Steelers vs Colts public betting splits
Public bettors got absolutely crushed on Sunday in Week 12. The three most heavily bet teams in terms of ticket count (Ravens, Bucs, Titans) all failed to cover, as did the three teams that drew the most spread money (Seahawks, Bears and Bucs).
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the top three most heavily bet over games (CIN-TEN, LAR-KC, ATL-WAS) failed to exceed the total, while two of the three most targeted under contests (TB-CLE, CHI-NYJ) were losers as well.
Tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup between the Steelers (3-7, 1-4 away) and Colts (4-6-1, 2-3 home) isn’t drawing the same type of action as the games above. However, there is a clear preference at online sportsbooks in the spread and total markets per the NFL public betting trends.
Steelers vs Colts ATS Betting Splits
Indianapolis opened up as a 3-point favorite on MNF. That number came down to -2.5 early in the week and has held steady ever since.
As of Monday morning, the Colts are drawing the majority of the spread bets and handle. 63% of the tickets are backing Indy at -2.5, as is 67% of the ATS money.
The Colts have covered in both games since Jeff Saturday took over coaching duties, and are 3-2 ATS at home this season.

Pittsburgh on the other hand has historically been a cash cow as underdogs in the Mike Tomlin era. Tomlin’s teams are 46-28-3 against the spread all-time when catching points, but just 3-4-1 ATS this season.
They enter play with a dismal 3-7 record against the spread in 2022, one of the five worst marks in the league. In spite of this, at least one of our experts is betting on Tomlin’s pedigree as a ‘dog in their Steelers vs Colts picks.

Pittsburgh vs Indianapolis Total Betting Splits
When it comes to the total, oddsmakers are holding firm at 39.5 which is exactly where the line opened. The over is drawing 57% of the over/under bets and 63% of all money wagered on the total.
Betting overs in Indianapolis games has not been a recipe for success. Indianapolis contests are 9-2 to the under this season, which is the second-highest under percentage in the league behind Denver.
Both of these teams struggle on offense, and both teams lean on their ground games which slows down the pace, reducing the number of total plays run.
NFL Top-5 Under Teams
Team | Under Record | Under % | Total +/- |
---|---|---|---|
Denver Broncos | 10-1 | 90.9% | -10.1 |
Indianapolis Colts | 9-2 | 81.8% | -7.6 |
Tampa Bay Buccaneers | 9-2 | 81.8% | -7.9 |
New York Giants | 8-3 | 72.7% | -5.3 |
Buffalo Bills | 8-3 | 72.7% | -3.5 |
Neither rushing attack has a favorable matchup, but Pittsburgh’s is especially tough. Indianapolis ranks sixth in run defense per DVOA which explains the fade of Najee Harris in the Steelers vs Colts player props.
Steelers vs Colts Moneyline Betting Splits
As far as the moneyline market is concerned, it’s pretty evenly split. Indianapolis is drawing 54% of the moneyline bets and 52% of the handle, as those bettors simply aren’t concerned with a pair of lopsided trends working against them.
Pittsburgh is 16-2 straight up in its past 18 meetings with Indy and hasn’t lost to them since 2008. For perspective, Peyton Manning was the Colts’ QB while Saturday was his center the last time the Colts beat the Steelers.
Among head coaches, Tomlin owns the second-best winning percentage all-time on Monday Night Football at 19-3, behind only the legendary John Madden (11-1-1).
Since Mike Tomlin took over in 2007, the Steelers have the most wins (19) and highest winning percentage (.826) in the NFL on Monday games.
So, that's one small thing going for them heading into Monday night's game against the Colts.

Tomlin’s teams are 7-1 all-time versus Indy, averaging over 31 points per game. Neither squad is dealing with major absences in the Steelers vs Colts injury report, although Pittsburgh will be down starting corner Akhello Witherspoon due to a hamstring issue.
