2020 Wyndham Championship Round 4 Odds and Betting Preview

In his young career, Si Woo Kim has earned the reputation of a very streaky player who, when his game is on can be incredible, as evidenced when he became the youngest ever winner of the Players Championship in 2017.

He had made seven straight cuts entering this tournament, leading us to love his pre-tournament odds at +3300 to win outright, having already taken home the Wyndham Championship title for his first PGA Tour victory in 2016.

He has a two-stroke edge entering the final round over 22-year old Doc Redman, who won the 2017 U.S. Amateur, and Rob Oppenheim, a 40-year old journeyman golfer who’s best ever finish on the tour was a T-9th earlier this year at the Puerto Rico Open. Si Woo Kim in Complete Control

Entering the third round in a four-way tie for the lead, Si Woo Kim broke away from the pack by shooting a sizzling 8-under 62, to grab a two stroke edge entering Sunday. He hit 12/14 fairways and 15/18 greens, and he got the round kick started by an incredible ace on the par 3, third hole.

He made seven other birdies, offset by just one bogey for that 62, and he came oh-so-close to dunking two aces in the same round on the par 3, 12th hole.

He’s in total control of his game, leading the field in strokes gained: tee-to-green, gaining over 10 shots on the field in that category, first in SG: off-the-tee, second SG: approaching the green an he’s first in the field with 21 birdies.

Given the fact that one of his closest pursuers in Rob Oppenheim has never contended to win a PGA Tour event before, you have to be feeling mighty confident in him heading into Sunday, so why deviate from our pre-tournament faith in him?

1. Doc Redman (+500): Currently in a tie for second, the phenom is second in SG: tee-to-green, second in driving accuracy, third in SG: off-the-tee and fourth in scrambling this week. Redman has also only made one bogey through three rounds. Finished second at last year’s Rocket Mortgage Classic to earn special tour membership and has knocked on the door to break through for his first victory.
2. Webb Simpson (+1100): He was the pre-tournament favorite for a reason, having won here in 2011 and finishing second in the last two Wyndham Championships. Seventh in SG: approaching the green and eighth in putting this week. Already posted two wins in 2020. T-5th in final round scoring average this season.
3. Jim Herman (+4500): Two-time tour winner known for winning or completely being irrelevant with a string of missed cuts and poor performances. Shot a career low 61 to get within four shots. Leads the field in greens in regulation this week, hitting 48 of 54. Came into the week with no form but that’s exactly what he did before winning the Barbasol Championship last year.
