The Utah Jazz needs a win against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday and a loss by the Lakers to be in the playoffs; the task seems hard, but Utah will try to make it happen.  The ball game starts at 8 PM ET at FedExForum.

Utah beat the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday Night and kept alive the dream of winning the 8th seed for the Western Conference. Al Jefferson had 22 points and eight rebounds and put the Jazz in a position to have everything decided on Wednesday.  They need a win from Houston over the Lakers.

“It comes down to one game now,” Jefferson said. “It’s a big game. The only thing we can worry about is what we can control, going out there and trying to take care of the game, and trying to win, and just leave the rest up to the Lakers, I guess.”

“Talk about this group of guys, man, the character that they have there was no quitting in this group,” coach Tyrone Corbin said. “The guys just continued to work and put ourselves in a position to get back when we were struggling there.”

The Grizzlies beat the Mavs on Monday also, but for Memphis is set that they will face the LA Clippers in the first round of the playoffs.

“Our intensity, our energy, our effort was revved up. Coach really challenged us at halftime to run harder and play with more force,” said Keyon Dooling, who made a crucial 3 pointer to win the match against Dallas. “The bench, we were trying to find some continuity, find out how we can play with each other. We did a good job in all those categories.”

This season, the series between Utah and Memphis is 2-1 in favor of the Grizzlies.
