  • The Los Angeles Dodgers are -210 home favorites over the Washington Nationals in their Saturday, April 10th MLB game
  • LA has won five of the last seven regular-season games against Washington at Dodger Stadium
  • Including postseason play, the Nationals are 2-1 in their past three visits to Chavez Ravine

The last two teams to win the World Series meet at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, April 10th, as the reigning champion Los Angeles Dodgers play host to the 2019 title winners the Washington Nationals. The Nats, in the 2020 NL Divisional Series, were the last team to beat the Dodgers in a postseason series.

Oddsmakers aren’t putting much stock in past outcomes. It’s the Dodgers who are being listed as the -210 home favorites over Washington. Five of LA’s last six games have gone under.

First pitch at Chavez Ravine is set for 9:10pm ET. The forecast is for clouds, 8mph wind and 74 degrees. MASN 2 and Sportsnet Dodgers are broadcasting the game.

Jansen Concerns?

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts handed the baseball to Cory Knebel to close out Friday’s 1-0 shutout of the Nationals. In LA’s previous game, regular closer Kenley Jansen blew the save against the Oakland Athletics.

Friday would’ve been Jansen’s third appearance in four days and Roberts said he didn’t want to overwork his closer. Yet last season, the Dodgers pitched Jansen three times in four days on seven occasions.

Roberts isn’t committing to Jansen as the regular closer this season. Knebel was an all-star closer with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Turner Turns On Another One

Justin Turner went 3-for-3 in Friday’s win. He provided the game’s only run with a sixth-inning solo homer. While Turner is hitting just .266 lifetime against Washington, he frequently goes yard against the Nats.

Friday’s clout was his eighth career bomb off Nationals pitchers in just 183 plate appearances. That’s a home run every 22.87 times he steps into the batter’s box.

Nationals Leaning Toward Corbin

While the Nationals haven’t officially named a starter for Saturday’s game, speculation is that it will be Patrick Corbin. The veteran left-hander was activated Friday from the COVID-19 injured list.

Corbin threw on flat ground Friday in order to test out his arm after a long stretch between pitching assignments for him. He’s 5-9 with a 3.36 ERA against the Dodgers.

Some run support would help. The Nationals haven’t plated a baserunner over the past 16 innings.

Urias Building On Postseason Success

A stellar performer for the Dodgers during their World Series run, right-hander Julio Urias picked up right where he left off in his first start of the 2021 season against the Colorado Rockies. The 24-year-old dominated Rockies bats, striking out six while walking one in 7-plus innings of work.

He threw 79 pitches in what proved to be the longest outing of his MLB career. Urias is 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA for the season.

Nationals Career Stats vs Urias

While he’s never figured in a decision against the Nationals, Urias shows solid numbers facing them. He’s posted a 2.25 earned-run average and 11 strikeouts in 12 innings of work against Washington over three games, including two starts.

  • Pick Los Angeles Dodgers (-210).
