The Milwaukee Bucks will try to inch a game closer to the Philadelphia 76ers in the standings when the teams meet at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia Wednesday night on ESPN (7pm ET).

The Bucks are coming into this one after beating the Washington Wizards twice in a row in the nation’s capital. The latest win came on Monday night, when Milwaukee throttled the Wizards 133-122. Philadelphia is working with a quick turnaround as they just  beat the New York Knicks 99-96 last night.

This series has been a one-sided affair as Milwaukee has taken three of the last four meetings. The last one was a 119-98 beat down in Milwaukee on February 22, 2020. The current odds have the Bucks favored by two points in this matchup, and there are more than enough props to consider.

Bombs Away

With Joel Embiid out for the next couple weeks with a knee injury, the 76ers will need someone to step up in his absence.

They currently sit in first place in the Eastern Conference, and can’t afford any slippage whatsoever. Luckily for them, they have a guy who can hit shots shots from the parking lot when needed.

In two games with Embiid on the shelf, one player that has noticeably taken advantage of the extra usage is Curry. He’s scored at least 20 points in each game and has only needed an average of 15 shots per game to get there. In both games, he has taken at least six three-point attempts. Shooters shoot and Curry is no exception.

The Milwaukee Bucks are a top ten defensive unit in the NBA in terms of efficiency, but one area they can be had from is behind the three-point line. Only nine teams in the NBA allow teams to connect on a higher percentage of three-pointers than the Bucks. As a result, teams tend to put up more attempts from behind the arc as only four teams see more three-pointers attempted against them.

The game tonight is in Philadelphia, and for Curry, that matters. So far this season, Curry has hit a ridiculous 49% of his three-point attempts at the Wells Fargo Center. Look for Curry to approach the 20s in scoring again tonight and go over his posted total of 14.5.

  • The Pick: Seth Curry Over 14.5 Points (-116)

Jrue Holiday is Back

Back in 2009 the Philadelphia 76ers selected Jrue Holiday with the 17th overall selection of the NBA Draft. Although some time has passed so the revenge narrative may not be as strong, it still exists. Holiday plays a key role for a very strong Milwaukee side and will likely have a little extra in the tank tonight.

The 76ers have one of the better defensive units in terms of efficiency in the NBA which may actually help Holiday tonight. While his teammates could struggle to score, the 76ers have been generous to guards.

RJ Barrett went for 17 last night, Derrick White went for 17 on Sunday and both Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal went for 19 plus the game before the all-star break. Holiday is a sneaky bet to go over his points total tonight.

  • The Pick: Jrue Holiday Over 15.5 Points (-110)
