Kyle Trask has put the college football world on notice.

The Florida Gators quarterback has been electric in the first two games of the season. This Saturday he takes his talents to College Station to face Texas A&M.

Despite their blowout loss to Alabama in Tuscaloosa last Saturday, the Aggies are only getting 6.5-points at home against a top five opponent in the Gators.

#21 Texas A&M Aggies +6.5 (-110) +195 U 57.5 (-110)

Odds taken October 7th from DraftKings

The Florida vs Texas A&M odds paint a pretty convincing picture. Despite being on the road the Gators are expected to win this game and run their record to 3-0. Does that mean they’ll cover the spread? Let’s take a look at where both programs stand entering this tilt on Saturday.

Trask Making Early Season Heisman Case

Trying to find a player who has performed at a higher level than Trask to this point is a tough ask. He has completed 71.8% of his passes through two games and already compiled 924 yards passing and ten touchdowns.

The first two games were against Ole Miss and South Carolina, but the stats still count. Expect for him to continue his run against the Aggies this weekend.

The Gators defense ranks 9th in the SEC, having allowed 59 points so far. That is an issue that needs to be addressed going forward. On the bright side, Texas A&M has only tallied 41 points which ranks 10th in the SEC.

This week should give Florida a chance to fix things on that side of the ball without being pressured too often.

Can Aggies Rebound from Embarrassing Loss?

Texas A&M didn’t look good in their season opening win over Vanderbilt. They won that game 17-12 against an opponent that is almost always an SEC doormat. The Aggies looked even worse in the second game of the season against the Alabama Crimson Tide. They lost by 28 points and now sit at the bottom of the SEC West.

Quarterback Kellen Mond entered the season with high expectations and has yet to meet them. Through two games he’s only completing 58.3% of his passes. Considering one of those two games was against Vanderbilt, that number simply isn’t good enough.

Head coach Jimbo Fisher turned to freshman Haynes King in garbage time against Alabama and that is telling. He was expected to make his college debut in the opener but the game was simply too tight. Questions at quarterback are not what you want when the opposition has one as talented as Trask.

Bet Gators Before Expected Line Move

Public bettors will certainly like the fact the Gators are giving less than a touchdown on the road. That number could certainly rise prior to kickoff making now the time to bet on Florida. Take them -6.5 while you still can and consider parlaying the spread with the over.

Trask’s ability coupled with the Gators early season struggles on defense could result in a run and gun affair.

The Pick: Florida Gators -6.5 (-110)
