2020 Fantasy Football Betting – Over/Unders on Points for Top QBs, RBs, WRs, and TEs
- Over/Under Fantasy football scoring for NFL season released
- Lamar Jackson projected to be top point producer at QB
- Read below for totals at QB, RB, WR and TE, and who we predict are too high and too low
Barring a major catastrophe, it appears the 2020 NFL regular season will go ahead as scheduled.
It was the only major sports league fortunate enough to sidestep any of the COVID-19 stoppages that put a pause into virtually every other game. But it’s safe to say that any fantasy football league should be baking in some COVID-related rulings just in case the NFL is forced into such a moment.
For now, let’s just enjoy. We’ve already discussed who we think will lead their positions in scoring this year, so let’s look at the totals. The Over/Under lines have been drawn — let’s find some good wagers to make for the coming season.

Who’s Too High?
Lamar Jackson: I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think Lamar Jackson is going to find the sledding just a little bit tougher in his second full season as a starter. He threw for 3,127 yards with 36 TD passes and just six interceptions, while also rushing for an obscene 1,206 yards.
On loop all night…

Jackson led the league in yards per carry at 6.9 a pop, and ranked as the sixth best running back in the NFL. I don’t think he’s falling off a cliff. The numbers should still be gaudy, but my goodness, we’d never seen anything like that. And we may not again. The pick: UNDER 355.5 points
Drew Brees: Give it up to one of the great plug-and-play fantasy stars of our generation, but Brees is getting a generous top-10 placement here. A thumb injury had him play just 11 games, producing 2,979 yards passing, with 27 TDs, and just four picks. His accuracy is still there, completing an NFL-best 74.3% of his passes (the third straight year he’s led the league), but he also had just 37 completions of 20+ yards.
Most fantasy points per start (QBs) since 2010:
1. Lamar Jackson – 26.1
2. Patrick Mahomes – 23.1
3. Deshaun Watson – 22.2
4. Aaron Rodgers – 20.9
5. Drew Brees – 20.3 pic.twitter.com/oBqPzpgvAr— PFF Fantasy & Betting (@PFF_Fantasy) August 29, 2020
He hasn’t been in the 30-range since 2003, when he also played 11 games with the Chargers. I’d like to see him end his final season with a bang, but it’s potentially a fizzle. The pick: UNDER 275.5 points
Who’s Too Low?
Tom Brady: We’re going to find out just how effective a 43-year-old can be in today’s NFL. Brady limped through a rough final year in New England, averaging just 6.6 yards per attempt, but he’s got the best set of weapons he’s had since Randy Moss was a Pat.
.@TomBrady's weapons in Tampa:
– Mike Evans
– Chris Godwin
– Gronk
– O.J. Howard
– LeSean McCoy
– Leonard Fournette pic.twitter.com/A6tRbjXvfw— NFL on ESPN (@ESPNNFL) September 3, 2020
Head coach Bruce Arians’ “No risk it, no biscuit” means Brady will be launching, and Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are two of the best to throw to in 2020. And in case he’s feeling nostalgic, Gronk’s here too, so red zone defenses beware. I think we’re looking at a top-5 campaign. The pick: OVER 278.5 points
Ben Roethlisberger: If you’ve got a late-round pick and want to take a flier on someone, how about Big Ben? An elbow injury essentially rinsed his 2019, and we’ll find out shortly if he’s fully healed and he’s ready to spin.

If he is, he’s fronting an offense that loves to throw the ball, but had to scale back last year when the Duck Hodges and Mason Rudolph’s of the world were replacing him. He’s passed for 26+ TD’s in six of his last eight seasons and averaged at least 7.5 yards per attempt in 2014-2018. The pick: OVER 244.5 points

Who’s Too High?
Alvin Kamara: Again, he should have a good year because of his run-pass catching ability, but he’s coming off nagging injuries that caused him to miss two games. He also dropped significantly from his 1,550+ total scrimmage yards he posted in his first two seasons, dipping to 1,330. Kamara’s also failed to lock in a long-term deal, with reports the team is willing to deal him. Just a lot hanging over him heading into this season. The pick: UNDER 208.5 points
#Saints RB Alvin Kamara and coach Sean Payton had a nice talk this morning, clearing the air. Kamara is expected back at practice today and the two sides will keep working at making sure he’s there long-term.

Kenyan Drake: The move to the desert was a good one for Drake, who ranked as the fourth-best running back in fantasy after arriving in Week 9 from the Dolphins. He finished the year with a career-best 1,162 yards from scrimmage, with eight TDs. It’s the second straight year he’s cracked 1,000 yards plus, and Arizona is counting on him, as there’s little competition for reps — unless you’re a Chase Edmonds believer.

Still, a foot injury has kept him sidelined during camp, and while that will heal, who knows how his line will hold up: PFF ranked them as the ninth-worst run-blocking grade among NFL teams. The pick: UNDER 191.5
Who’s Too Low?
Austin Ekeler: I get that the Chargers aren’t on anyone’s radar, but Ekeler’s body of work last year should have had him closer to the top 10. He produced at least 20 points in seven games. With Melvin Gordon holding out for the first four games last year, Ekeler averaged 25.8 PPR points. With Gordon now in Denver, he’ll maintain top-dog status, and the Bolts also improved their offensive line, adding Trai Turner and Bryan Bulaga, which should bolster the run game. The pick: OVER 184.5 points

DJ Chark | Jaguars | 130.5 | -115 | -115 |
Who’s Too Low?
AJ Green: There’s not much to gripe about at the top of this list, but maybe it’s just how well-stocked the receiver position is these days that there are a ton of value guys that should be looked at.
"He's one of the best receivers in the NFL."@Bengals Coach Zac Taylor on AJ Green! pic.twitter.com/Nw4gqAtk65
— CBS Sports HQ (@CBSSportsHQ) September 1, 2020
One of them is AJ Green. An ankle injury cost him a year, and a hamstring injury has slowed him down at camp, but the guy can still play. He’s averaged 78.2 yards receiving game in the last 35 games he’s played, hauling in 8.6 yards per target while finding paydirt every 10.4 catches. Assuming he’s healthy and Joe Burrow is the real deal, Green should blast through this figure. The pick: OVER 132.5 points
Odell Beckham Jr: Minus his injury-plagued 2017 year where he played just four games, OBJ had his worst fantasy year by far, averaging just eight points a game and totaling just 127.3 in a full season. This is a guy that’s never averaged fewer than 12.2 points a contest in a season, and never scored lower than 153. Bounce back season is in effect. The pick: OVER 145.5 points

— Brad Stainbrook (@StainbrookNFL) August 30, 2020
Stefon Diggs: Yes, traditional second options often struggle to be the main option, but Diggs was more of a 1A-1B with Adam Thielen in Minnesota. His projected total points this year is lower than any of his total scores in the last three years. How steep is the dropoff from Kirk Cousins to Josh Allen? The Bills need a big play receiver and Diggs has been begging for the ball to come his way. It will in Buffalo. The pick: OVER 133.5 points
2020 NFL Fantasy – Tight End Total Points
Player | Team | Total Points | Over Odds | Under Odds |
---|---|---|---|---|
Travis Kelce | Chiefs | 161.5 | -115 | -115 |
George Kittle | 49ers | 145.5 | -115 | -115 |
Mark Andrews | Ravens | 127.5 | -115 | -115 |

Noah Fant | Broncos | 89.5 | -115 | -115 |
Austin Hooper | Browns | 86.5 | -115 | -115 |
Who’s Too High?
Darren Waller: He’s ranked in the top-five, but he’s treading on the strength of last year’s one and only breakout season since entering the NFL in 2015. Waller racked up 90 catches and 1,145 yards with three TDs. That got him to 131 fantasy points on the year. The tight end position is fickle, though, and staying power is hard in this league. I would expect a dropoff. The pick: UNDER 115.5 points
"Gronk and Mike Evans as a red zone combo can be nearly unguardable. … But outside of the red zone what is Rob Gronkowski in 2020? In 2018, he was a guy who had 600 yards, 47 catches." — @getnickwright pic.twitter.com/SjHL5q5mtD
— First Things First (@FTFonFS1) September 2, 2020
Who’s Too Low?
Rob Gronkowski: Minus his rookie season, the only year Gronk failed to score more than 143 or more points in a season when appearing in at least 10 games was his last season in 2018, when he racked up just 84.2. But assuming he’s healthy and reunited with Tom Brady in Tampa, that total seems small. Expect to see a bunch of power spikes in the endzone this year. The pick: OVER 93.5 points
