The public is favoring the Chargers to cover the four-point spread, with 77% of bets on them, while 83% of Broncos vs Chargers public betting trends are pointing to wagers on LA to win on the moneyline. With respect to the game total, 71% of bets placed are on under 46 points.

The Chargers are the eighth choice (+1800) in the Super Bowl odds, with the Broncos a longshot at +5000, with them sputtering thus far on the campaign.

SGP Pick #1: Chargers Moneyline

In the last six times the Chargers have faced the Broncos at home, they’ve come out on top on four occasions.

Only once in their first five contests this season has Denver been able to muster more than 16 points, and the one they did get 23 points, they still lost to Las Vegas. Russell Wilson has been dealing with shoulder injury and the offense doesn’t look in sync in any way. According to Pro Football Focus, Denver has the third worse offense, 27th in passing and 29th in rushing.

Our model actually has this game going in Denver’s favor, with the Broncos predicted to win 19-17 over the Chargers. After an early blip with Justin Herbert hobbled, LA started 1-and-2. They’ve since recovered, however, with wins over the Texans and Browns. Denver has gone the other way, losing their last two to Vegas and the Colts.

SGP Pick #2: Justin Hebert Over 261.5 Passing Yards

Even though Justin Herbert suffered a rib injury way back in Week 2, it hasn’t prevented the star QB from putting up big yardage this season. He’s gutted through the pain to have these passing yards – 279, 334, 297, 340, 228.

Last week was the first time he’s gone under the listed 261.5 passing yards total, with him eclipsing at least 279 yards in his first four starts.

Dating back to last season, ten of the last 13 starts Herbert has gone over the 261.5 total, which includes one instance of doing it against Denver. In seven career prime time games, he’s shone under the lights, recording at least three passing/rushing TD’s in each game and averaging 305 passing yards.

SGP Pick #3: Austin Ekeler Anytime Touchdown Scorer

After starting the season rather slowly by his lofty standards, Austin Ekeler has really come on in the last couple of games. He hadn’t scored a TD the first three weeks, but he’s racked up five in the last two games.

He’s also found paydirt in five of his last six meetings against the Broncos. He must definitely be considered in your Broncos vs Chargers prop picks with Ekeler coming off a pair of monster games.
