The American found herself down after losing the first set, and had to piece together a comeback. It took almost three hours to secure the win, but 45 winners later, Collins fended off her first seeded opponent of the tournament.

The 28-year old has played a total of 12 events over the course of her career in Australia, and has managed to reached at least the quarterfinal seven of those times.

Standing in her way of a semifinal appearance is Cornet, who has shown up and surprised everyone this week.

Collins vs Cornet Best Bet

This is an interesting matchup as one player relies heavily on her strong offensive, and heavy baseline play, while the other actually records most of her points when she’s on defense.

Collins is a strong offensive player. The American had held her own against some of the best, whereas Cornet lets the ball come to her sometimes. Rather than attack, the French star throws her opponents off with her defensive approach.

Both player have the ability to win this match, but given how Cornet has played this week, defeating Garbine Muguruza in the second round, and most recently Halep, she seems to be the one to beat.

Don’t be surprised if Collins happens to take a set, which forces the match to go the distance, but given the stats of this week, Cornet seems to be the best bet here.

Best Bet: Cornet (+230)
