The Houston Texans received good and semi bad news for the week before the opening game against the Chargers.  They took out safety Ed Reed of the PUP list (Physically Unable to Perform), but can figure put the way to have RB Arian Foster in full form.

“He’ll be back [Saturday], and we’re hoping to do some field drills on Monday and Tuesday with our extra days, with him, with [head trainer Geoff Kaplan],” coach Gary Kubiak said of Reed. “So we’ll probably make a quick decision early in the week, Monday or Tuesday on his availability for San Diego. But we’re sitting here hoping, and we’ll see how that goes.”

Reed has an issue with his hip.  He’s been limited for years when he played with the Ravens, but usually was ready to be in the most important games.

Arian Foster is the real question for the Texans.  He’s not fully recovered with calf and back injuries.  He will be limited for week one at San Diego.

“Obviously I don’t think Arian is going to be a 30-carry guy opening night without camp,” Kubiak said. “But he got good work last week. This is going to be a good week for him because we’ve actually got two extra days that can get us a couple extra padded practices before we start our week.

“Us opening on Monday should be beneficial to Arian, but we know Ben [Tate] is ready to go”, Kubiak added.

The Texans are 3 point favorites for their Monday Night matchups against the Chargers to be play on Monday night at Qualcomm Stadium at 10:15 PM ET
