The Eastern Conference playoff bracket will be finalized Thursday night when the Indiana Pacers travel to the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC to battle the Wizards on TNT (8:00pm ET). The mission is simple – win or go home.

The Pacers ended up in this game by finishing ninth in the Eastern Conference. They demolished the tenth-seeded Charlotte Hornets 144-117 in their first play-in game Tuesday to advance.

Meanwhile, the Wizards finished the regular season in 8th place in the Eastern Conference. They were handled 118-110 by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the play-in tournament on Tuesday night and now face a must-win situation in order to advance.

Washington has dominated the series this season winning all three matchups. The latest was a narrow 133-132 win back on May 8. The books are expecting more of the same as the Wizards are 3-point favorites this time around.

As always, there are plenty of props to consider.

Odds as of May 20th

Oshae Brissett is Flying Under the Radar

The Indiana Pacers will be without Caris LeVert for the foreseeable future as he has landed on the Covid list. His absence will obviously open the door for other guys, but one in particular is being undervalued by the books – Oshae Brissett.

The second year man seems to have found a home in Indiana and is playing with a ton of confidence.

With LeVert on the sidelines, Brissett is likely to take ten or more shots tonight given the pace. It’s not crazy to think he could see as many as 15, in my opinion. These two teams rank one and two in the entire NBA in pace on the season. The faster the better and all signs point to a track meet tonight.

Bettors should chase volume as it is the key to everything in this game we play. Brissett taking double digit shots is important because he does well with volume. In his short career, Brissett has taken ten or more shot attempts in a game seven times. In all seven of those games, he has scored at least 14 points. At +100, this one feels like the right move given the situation.

  • The Pick: Brissett OVER 13.5 Points (+100)

Westbrook Won’t Go Down Easily

We can make jokes all day about “West-brick” this and “West-brick” that but at the end of the day, he will still take threes. If we believe this one will be played at a track meet type pace, then we have to think Westbrook will jack up some threes.

Despite the “Westbrook can’t shoot” narrative, he still hit 31% of his long-range attempts on the year.

Volume is big since we can’t guess how a guy will shoot on a given night. And you can’t make a three-pointer if you don’t shoot them. Give me a guy who I think will take six or seven threes on any given night and I will bet his over 1.5 threes made prop almost every time. Especially at even money. That’s the situation we have tonight.

Over his last seven games, Westbrook has taken at least six three-point attempts in five of them. He has canned at least two in four of the games. In three games with the Pacers this season, Westbrook has taken at least six three-point attempts in two of them and connected on at least three in both of those games. Given the situation tonight, I think he hits at least two threes.

  • The Pick: Westbrook OVER 1.5 Made Threes (+100)
