Down six rotation players, including four starters, the Phoenix Suns (21-21, 7-14 away) found a way to snap their 6-game losing streak with a win at Golden State.
No soft landing here. From the defending champs, it’s on to the best in the West, for a visit to the Denver Nuggets (27-13, 17-3 home) on the second night of a back-to-back.
Denver is coming off a win Monday over the Lakers, their third straight and their 10th win in their last 12. At 17-3, the Nuggets are tied with Memphis for the best home record in the West.

Phoenix has struggled on the road: their 7-14 record is tied for the second-fewest road wins of any team in playoff position in the conference.
It’s the second of four meetings between these two teams: Denver beat the Suns on Christmas Day, 128-125 in overtime. Devin Booker (groin) was injured in that game and hasn’t been back since.

The one Suns’ starter in the lineup delivered in a big way to help Phoenix snap their skid. Mikal Bridges poured in 26 points, adding nine rebounds and five assists as the Suns beat the Warriors 125-113, handing GState just their fifth loss in 22 home games this season.
Duane Washington Jr added 21 points and five assists, while Damion Lee came off the bench for 22 points, including a sparkling 14-for-14 from the free throw line, with seven boards and four dimes.

As a team, Phoenix shot 14-for-31 from downtown, a 45.2% clip. They’re the 3rd-best shooting team in the NBA, shooting it at a 38.3% rate.
Joining Booker on the sidelines were fellow all-star Chris Paul (heel), Deandre Ayton (ankle), Cam Johnson (knee), as well as reserves Cam Payne (foot) and Landry Shamet (hip).
Payne, Johnson and Booker are all weeks away from returning. Paul, Ayton and Shamet’s status for Wednesday has not yet been determined.

Playing a Lakers’ side missing both LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Nuggets built a 14-point halftime lead and didn’t look back, knocking of LA 122-109, their fifth win in six games.
Denver has been remarkably consistent offensively, scoring at least 121 points in each of their last five wins.
Jamal Murray was the leading scorer in against LA, dropping 34 points to go along with seven rebounds and four assists. Nikola Jokic, in the 2023 NBA MVP odds mix as he seeks a third straight crown, took just five shots, but was arguably the best player on the floor.

He made all five attempts, finishing with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 16 assists for his league-leading 11th triple-double of the season.
Denver is middle-of-the-pack defensively, surrendering 113.7 points per game, but they offset that with one of the devastating offenses in basketball.
The Nuggets are fifth in scoring (116.8), first in three-point shooting (39.9%), second in shooting from the field (50.8%) and second in assists at 28.7 per game. They are also top-5 in points in the paint (54.8) and fast-break points (16.4).
