Denver has scored just six touchdowns all season, but that didn’t stop bettors from hammering the Broncos early in the week ahead of their Monday Night Football clash with the Chargers.

The early Denver action cause a significant movement to the spread in the NFL public betting trends, but as we approach kick-off, LA is starting to draw more money at the new number.

The Chargers are currently a 4-point favorite, after opening up as the 5.5-point chalk. LA is drawing the majority of moneyline bets, while the total has a good chance to dip below 46 given the heavy action on the under.

Denver vs Los Angeles ATS Splits

All that early Broncos money came in despite Denver’s awful record against the spread. They’ve failed to cover in five straight road games, and are 1-4 ATS to start the season. LA meanwhile, has covered in four of five outings so far, and are my pick in the Broncos vs Chargers predictions.

As of Monday afternoon, 77% of the spread wagers are on Chargers -4, as is 67% of the ATS handle. LA grades out as a much better team per overall DVOA, but injuries are piling up in the Broncos vs Chargers injury report. Justin Herbert will be without his number one receiver Keenan Allen, while LA will also be missing its top pass rusher Joey Bosa.

Russell Wilson has had his fare share of struggles early on, but a great deal of that can be attributed to poor play under pressure and his lat injury. Wilson has been at practice all week, and with Bosa out the Chargers pass rush is significantly downgraded. That should open up a higher ceiling for Wilson in the Broncos vs Chargers player props.

Broncos vs Chargers Total Betting Splits

The Chargers have covered in three straight games, while the under is 4-1 in Denver contests. Three of the Broncos games finished 20+ points under the total, and bettors are banking on Monday Night Football underwhelming in the boxscore as well.

71% of the over/under bets are backing under 46, as is 70% of the money that’s been wagered on the total. Betting unders in prime time games has been a license to print money all season, and this week’s island contests are 1-0-1 to the under.

Unders in in prime time games are 11-5-1 so far, with Denver being involved in three of those matchus.

DEN vs LAC Moneyline Splits

As mentioned earlier, the Chargers are drawing the overwhelming amount of moneyline tickets, most of which are likely tied up in parlays given that this is the last game of the week.

83% of the moneyline wagers are backing LA at -210 odds, while the 17% of Denver moneyline tickets appear to be coming from sharp bettors. That small amount of moneyline bets make up 33% of the moneyline handle, which means big money bettors are siding with the Broncos for the most part.

Denver has won one of two games as an underdog this season, while LA is is 3-1 straight up as a favorite. The Chargers lone loss when laying points came back in Week 3 against the Jaguars, in a game where Herbert was clearly feeling the side effects of the rib injury he suffered in his previous outing.
