With no more Thursday night games on the NFL schedule this season, Week 17 begins Sunday with 15 games.

Highlighting the slate is the Arizona Cardinals (10-5) visiting the Dallas Cowboys (10-4). The Cardinals still have a chance to finish with the best record in the NFC despite being on a three-game losing streak, while the Cowboys remain in the hunt for the #1 seed and took a two-game winning streak into Sunday night’s game against the visiting Washington Football Team.

The Cowboys have opened as three-point favorites.

The Green Bay Packers (12-3) have opened as 6.5-point home favorites against the Minnesota Vikings for Sunday Night Football.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (7-7-1) host the Cleveland Browns (7-8) on Monday Night Football, with both teams clinging to faint playoff hopes. The opening line has the Browns as 1.5-point choices.

49ers Big Favorites Over Texans

The San Francisco 49ers (8-7) have opened as the week’s biggest favorites by 15.5 points at home over the Houston Texans (4-11), despite coming off a 20-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans on the road Thursday night.

The 49ers held a 10-0 lead at halftime but wound up losing for just the second time in their last seven games. Randy Bullock’s 40-yard field goal with four seconds left gave the Titans the victory.

San Francisco’s Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 322 yards and his 2-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Aiyuk tied the score at 17-all with 2:20 remaining.

The Texans have won back-to-back games for the first time this season after knocking off the visiting San Diego Chargers 41-29 on Sunday.

Rex Burkhead ran for a career-high 149 yards and two touchdowns, and the Texans forced the Chargers into three turnovers. Houston won despite having 16 players on the COVID-19/reserve list.

Burkhead had TD runs of 25 and 1 yards and the Texans finished with a season-high 189 yards rushing.

Browns Small Road Picks Over Steelers

The Browns are the smallest favorites at 1.5 points over the Steelers despite losing three of their last four games, including to the Packers 24-22 on Saturday in Green Bay.

Baker Mayfield threw a career-high four interceptions and was sacked five times. Rasul Douglas sealed the victory for the Packers by picking off Mayfield for the second time with 43 seconds remaining.

Nick Chubb had 126 of the 219 rushing yards for the Browns, who had eight regulars on the COVID-19/reserve list.

The Steelers were thumped 36-10 by the Chiefs on Sunday in Kansas City for their fourth loss in the last six games. Pittsburgh trailed 23-0 at halftime and became the first team in NFL history to fall behind by at least 23 points by intermission in three straight road games.

Ben Roethlisberger threw for just 159 yards, was intercepted once and lost a fumble.

Highs and Lows

The Cardinals-Cowboys game features the week’s highest total at 48.5 points.

The Cardinals, though, are averaging just 17.0 points during their three-game skid and struggled again offensively Saturday night in a 22-16 loss to the visiting Indianapolis Colts.

Quarterback Kyler Murray generated 319 total yards – 245 passing and 74 rushing – but the Cardinals scored just two touchdowns. Matt Prater missed two field goals and an extra point.

The Cowboys were averaging 25.0 points during their three-game winning streak prior to Sunday night.

The lowest over/under is 38 for the New York Giants-Bears game in Chicago.

The Giants’ lone touchdown in Sunday’s 34-10 loss to the Eagles in Philadelphia came with 3:50 to play and New York trailing by 31 points. In his first NFL start, Jake Fromm was 6-for-17 for 25 yards and one interception, before being pulled for Mike Glennon.

The Bears posted their third-highest point total of the season in surprising the Seahawks 25-24 in Seattle. Third-string quarterback Nick Foles got the start and threw a 15-yard touchdown pass and winning two-point conversion to Damiere Byrd with 1:01 left.

Movement on the Line?

The Giants are on a four-game losing streak and five-point underdogs against the Bears. However, Chicago had lost eight of nine prior to Sunday. As a New York team, the Giants have fans all over the country who will likely bet the line down.

The New England Patriots are hefty 15-point home favorites over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Look for that line to go even higher as the public fades the pathetic Jaguars against Bill Belichick.
