Take Hurts In a TD Prop Play

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is is among the favorites in the Super Bowl MVP odds. Not surprisingly, Hurts is also a popular player in Super Bowl TD props.

There’s good reason for making the latter play. In each of Philadelphia’s two playoff games, Hurts has called his own number for a TD run. Those two scores, added on to the 13 he scored during the regular season, tops among NFL QBs, give Hurts 15 TDs in 17 games. He missed two games due to a shoulder injury. Still, that’s an NFL record for a QB.

As well, when the Eagles played the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium in Week 5, Hurts ran for the first two TDs of the game.

BetMGM is offering -110 odds on a Hurts anytime TD. Off all the players in the game, he looks like the best Super Bowl prop bet to be breaking the plane of the goal line at some point today.

Pick: Jalen Hurts (PHI) anytime TD (-110)

Chiefs Will Win the Game

Though the current Super Bowl odds are favoring the Eagles to be lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy, recent history is not on their side. Taking history into account when assessing the Chiefs vs Eagles odds, it’s not looking good for Philadelphia.

NFC teams are 0-4 against the spread the last four times they’ve been favored to win the big game. Take it back to the last 10 times the NFC squad was the chalk and their number is 1-7-2 ATS.

On top of that, the AFC is 2-1 straight up and 3-0 ATS in each of the three prior big games played in Arizona. Kansas City is wearing the white uniforms. Teams donning the white jerseys are 15-3 SU in the last 18 Super Bowls. As well, the underdog is 5-2 in the last seven big games featuring a team from the AFC West.

Pick: Kansas City Chiefs moneyline (+110)

Will There Be a Safety In the Super Bowl?

This might a bit of a stab in the dark, but the price on there being a safety, combined with the number of safeties recorded in Super Bowl games, makes it worth the risk.

During the 2022 NFL regular season, teams accounted for 13 safeties over 270 games. That’s one every 20.76 games. In 56 Super Bowl games, nine safeties have been recorded. That’s one every 5.86 games.

The last safety came in Super Bowl 48 between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks, so the football world is overdue for a Super Bowl safety.  And at odds of +1000 that there will be a safety, even a $5 bet would bring a $55 payout on this prop if it hits.

Pick: Yes there will be a Super Bowl 57 safety (+1000)
